Bad quality and bad service. Purchased a CAD-120S MKII. It worked for a few hours, then stopped working. I discussed this with Steve who questioned why we would change output stage, despite the manual itself stating "output stage may be switched on the fly". Further discussions only led to Cary Audio finger pointing blame to us. They ultimately asked us to file a RMA, which we did and Cary Audio never ended up responding. I took the amplifier to a local technician who advised it failed due to bad quality soldering workmanship. The technician repaired the solder joints and it has been working fine since. Cary Audio's warranty is meaningless which is highly concerning given their poor quality.

I ordered an amplifier, they promised it in 2 months, I received it after 5 and received a defective device. As a joke, they included a "quality control certificate". The subsequent repair was another mockery - they wrote in Russian - and finaly when they fixed it, they couldn't explain at all what had been broken and what they had done. When you buy an expensive item from the US, you expect appropriate quality and customer attitude, not to receive a non-working device and a "go to hell, consumer" attitude. Addition: about half a year after the described incident, the same problem started occurring again and the device no longer functioned properly. It is obvious that the issue was not resolved. No more Cary Audio! Never again! Cheap chi-fi quality and terrible service for insane money.

I purchased the CAD 120S MKii, I have a pretty good solid state system but it doesn't even compare to the quality and the musicality of the Cary amplifier and that is before I had the upgrades done. When I received my amplifier there was a slight issue with it and not only did Cary call me on one of their days off when they first heard about it. Not only did they take care of the problem and did it where it was no inconvenience to me, they also took care of the problem amazingly quick. I was shocked how fast they took care of the problem. Also everybody I've dealt within the company has been nothing but professional and helpful. I truly am glad I chose this company and this product. I personally want to thank Steve who's the quality control manager. Last thought, not only is it a great product but it is also a fantastic company to deal with and that is increasingly harder and harder to find. P.S. I was so happy with their CAD120S MK2 that I purchased their SLP-05 pre-amplifier with the ultimate upgrade package. What an amazing piece of equipment, either matched with my 120S MK2 or with my solid state Advance Paris X220 monoblock amplifiers. I am absolutely amazed how much differen

Great job... here in France, Cary DACs are feeding my high end "old school" system (Klipsch La Scala + Beard P35 + Beard CA 35) with maestria ! Good job, hard to find in a cheap capitalistic marketing world... Finally, it's possible to find more smartness than business in american products ;)
